Sembach is a municipality in the district of Kaiserslautern in Rhineland-Palatinate and belongs to the Verbandsgemeinde of Enkenbach-Alsenborn. The town with around 1,160 inhabitants is located at an altitude of 261 m. The community benefited from the construction of Napoleon's imperial road from Paris to Mainz, which put the town on a national transport route and became a post office in 1809. The direct connection to the A 63 ensures a fast connection to the Rhine-Main area, via the A 6 there is a connection to the Mannheim-Ludwigshafen economic area and nearby France.

 

The area is only 10 km from the university town of Kaiserslautern and 30 km from Ramstein Airbase. The Kaiserslautern Military Community, with around 50,000 military personnel and civilians, is the world's largest US military base outside of the United States.
